The led shadowless operating lamp in the operating theatre is an essential piece of lighting in the operating theatre. It contributes greatly to surgical safety, surgical quality, surgical efficiency, and the continued ability of the operator to work and to eye hygiene. So what are its features?

1. Brightness assurance

The operating theatre surgeon must be able to distinguish contours, colors, and movements precisely. Therefore, as a surgeon, you need a light intensity close to the quality of daylight. 100,000lux of light is determined to be equivalent to the brightness of the sun at midday. In addition to this, in the surgical environment, most of the light is absorbed rather than reflected, which means that the surgical-led shadowless operating lamp must provide even greater brightness.

The led shadowless operating lamp produces a maximum brightness of 150,000lux, all of which can be steplessly adjusted. Only at this brightness can the surgeon have 50% of the visible light in the operative area.

2. No heat generation guarantee

The brightness of the light is accompanied by the generation of heat. A surgical procedure that generates heat can be very dangerous for the surgeon and the patient. Therefore, we need only light without heat during surgery.

3. No pathogens guaranteed

One of the essential elements of surgery is that the number of pathogens must be kept to a minimum during the procedure, so we use the optimum surgical-led shadowless operating lamp form factor with the appropriate placement (behind the surgeon) to effectively control the number of pathogens.

4. Colour temperature assurance

Colour perception is determined by the color temperature of the light to which you are exposed, e.g. the color temperature of daylight is 5600 kelvin; at 5600 kelvin the light perceived by human research is white.

Therefore experts recommend that the color temperature of light in the operating theatre is at least 4000 kelvin; so it is possible to produce the same light as daylight treatment. For the human eye, the colors are only clear in daylight, making diagnosis more accurate and not straining the eyes of medical staff from long working hours.

5. Shadowless guarantee

The led shadowless operating lamp can be illuminated without shadows by means of a multilateral reflector. The reflector is computer-designed and industrially stamped in one piece, with a reflectivity of up to 95%. It has a special shape: it consists of a number of reflective surfaces that reflect and illuminate the entire operating area.

The result is a superimposition of many lights and shadows, forming an absolutely homogenous column of light. The operation is performed in this column of light, which starts 80 cm below the light plate and reaches deep into the operative area.

Thanks to the perfect design of the reflecting surface and the large light-reflecting surface, this homogenous column of light are not only as bright as daylight but also absolutely shadow-free. It is also very homogeneous even when the surgeon's shoulder, hand, or head partially blocks the light source.
